Merry Christmas from all the girls

I have to admit when I started working on this panel I wasn't sure where it was going.  The background is Barn Door Distress Spray, a gold glimmer mist, and white paint flicked on after the sprays were dry.  Once I saw the red and gold shimmer I knew it had to go Christmas.  I layered on some green polka dotted paper, random text paper, and vintage ledger paper.

The ladies were fussy cut and separated into two sets of three.  I added pompoms and bling to their elf hats.
I cut the back off a bottle brush tree and bent the bottom forward.  Once it was glued onto the canvas I decorated it with vintage mercury glass beads.  The base got a word token and a green pearl covers the hole in the token.  A couple tiny wrapped gifts hide the wire from the tree.  A metal star was glued directly to the canvas.

I love mercury glass beads.   They are getting harder to find and more expensive too.
The sari ribbon wraps all the way around.  I added a bit of green to break up all the red.  The "Merry Christmas" is an old floral pic.

What have you been crafting?
Jess
