Hamlet Speaks Tag

Effect powders are the tools of choice this CC3 Challenge. This time around the fantastic Inspiration Emporium is the sponsor.  Tim has donated yet another prize too.  If you haven't joined in there are plenty of techniques left in the Compendium of Curiosities III, so get your craft on!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do this time around.  Sometimes when the challenge is posted I am running to my craft desk.  I had to mull this one around a bit before I started.  Once inspiration hit I was off and running.
Here you can see my effect powder.  I can't tell you exactly what I did, but if you get your copy of the Compendium you can see.  The back of the tag is peaking through here.  I used crackle distress paint in Picket Fence and then colored it with Distress Stains and Alcohol Inks to achieve a rusty gritty patina.
You can see it a bit better here.  The banner is cut from the Tattered Banner die.  I colored it with Distress Inks in Vintage Photo and Pumice Stone.  I used the Ornate Frame die and then ran it through the Sizzix again with the Paris Texture Fade Embossing folder to add the text.  I scuffed it up to expose the core of the paper and then ran Vintage Photo ink on top.
I am loving the creepy Ophelia arm.  She's holding some forget me nots that I sprayed with Tattered Angels sprays.
A tiny poison vial completes the tag.
I am also entering this one into the Vintage Journey's The Colors of Autumn Challenge.

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday

I love WOYWW and I haven't done it in a while.  I love to see what people are working on and take comfort in people's work spaces being just as messy as mine!
I have had my hand in a bit of everything lately.  Halloween. Christmas.  Swap projects.  You name it.
I'm working on a mini Christmas book using images my favorite go to downloadable image site Lisa's Altered Art.  Her stuff is so dang cute, you have to check it out.

I have been working on so much I took over the kitchen.
You can see some of my cute paper mache snowmen here.
I love this guy.  He looks like a snowman bellhop.

I have also been making Halloween hairclips.
Gorgeous and creepy.

I am loving my new washi organizer it has made me realize I need a washi intervention.  This doesn't even make a dent in my stash.
So that's it.  Thanks for taking a peek.

The Witching Hour Clock

Back with another altered clock and this is a big one!  You can't really tell from the picture, but this clock is about 5 times the size of your average alarm clock.
Halloween is fast approaching and I love creating for this time of year.

The clock was spray painted using a graphite color.  The background paper is from Graphic 45.  The medallion in the middle is from Michael's, as is the hat on top.  There are some sparkly flourishes from Prima too.

I can't wait to decorate the house for Halloween.
I am entering this into a couple challenges:
Vintage Journey with a Flourish challenge
Eclectic Paperie Fall Challenge
Our Creative Corner Autumnal Inspiration Challenge- I was inspired by the gorgeous green leaves that are echoed in the berries on the hat.  The close ups of the wood look like the background on the witchy medallion.  The berries remind me of the color of the background paper.
