Here come the photos!
This is the front cover. A while back I bought a card catalog. It is chock full of cards and I knew I had to use some on here.
This is what happens when you remove the elastic band. Books!
Pardon my hand. I couldn't get the tab to stay open without it.
That glasses sticker kills me! I would wear those glasses if I could find a pair.
Tiny handmade books.
This image is from Graphic 45. I painted it using watercolors.
Another catalog card.
The library card is a German flashcard.
Here are some close ups of the flaps. Both of the small top and bottom flaps have a card catalog paper as the background and a bookshelf as the foreground. I cut out a few extra books and popped them up to add dimension.
The back cover.
I love how this tuned out.
What have you been crafting?
Jess
OMG look how nice that turned out! I am never good at thinking those folds, flips and pockets through. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole! It took forever, but I knew I was keeping it for me. :)
DeleteWow Jess this definitely is a labour of love, and has turned out fabulous, I love all the tabs and tags, I wish I could explore it in person. Your sharing of this is perfectly timed and I am thrilled you joined us with this creation for our Inspire Your Heart with Art Event. Danie xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Danie. I wish the photos were better. It was hard to capture all the details. The timing for the Inspire your Heart was spot on!
DeleteOh how lucky..to work in a book shop. What great conversations you must have with customers and others who love books.
ReplyDeleteLove your folio.
Thank you Judy! My favorite part of the day is when I can recommend a book or get a good recommendation.
DeleteThat is so wonderful, so many lovely details. A true labour of love.
ReplyDeleteThank you Deb :)
DeleteThis is wonderful. You never cease to amaze me. I wish I was right there so I could enjoy it in real life.
ReplyDeleteAww thank you ,Betsey. I want to see that paper calliope you made.
Deletelove your style--so much to see on each page!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It really is crammed full of stuff :)
DeleteThis is fabulously wonderful and wonderfully fabulous!!! I too am a voracious reader; I still read the printed word and find it odd to read on my ipad because it's paperless. And I love the fragrance of a bookstore or old library. I taught high school English for 37 years (retired in 2006) and now have time to pursue even more reading and writing and art. I'm so glad I stopped by today. Thanks for sharing your reading heart!
ReplyDeleteI have an e-reader and don't read on it nearly as much as I thought I would. There is just something about holding a book in your hand...
DeleteAww, adorable folio, very interesting inside pages. Thanks for share!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shilpa
DeleteGreat project and it shows your love of books !!!
