Song of the Snowflakes Tag

Hello Everyone,
Today I have created a tag to put on top of a Christmas gift. 

Stamp  Snowflakes from the Winter Wonderland set.  The snowflakes are stamped using Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, and Peacock Feathers.  Using the same colors blend the background together.  

Make sure you stamp some of the snowflakes off the edge to make it appear as if they are falling. Add  Weathered Wood and Pumice Stone ink around the edges to finish the background.   

Stamp the Feathered Wings using embossing ink.  Emboss the wings using a detail gold powder.  Add Perfect Medium to the wings and then use Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls all over. This fills in the white areas, but you can still see all the fine detail of the stamp.   

Using Christmas clipping stickers create a little snowflake story.  Add white gel pen around the clippings.  Scribble with a silver gel pen all around the background of the tag.  You can't see the scribbles when you look at the tag, but when you turn it in the light it picks up little hints of shimmer.    

Attach the wings to the back of a paperdoll.  Use foam tape to adhere the doll to the tag.  Color her cheeks using a Spun Sugar Distress Marker.  Add tiny silver flowers to her hat.  

Wrap up your brown paper package with string and pop that tag right on top.

Simple Christmas

Hi Everyone,
I don't do simple a lot, but when you need to bust out a bunch of Christmas cards I find simple is best!  Today I have two cards that use the same base, but I have changed them up just a tiny bit and the feel is very different on both. 

  The Star Medallions from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts come in a set of three.  For these two cards I used the small and medium medallions.  Paint both of the medallions using Dina Wakley paint in Gilt.  The small medallion got some pearl dots added to the points and a gumdrop colored with mushroom alcohol ink in the center.

For the background on this card use navy blue paper and emboss it using the Sizzix 3d Winter Snowflakes Embossing folder.  Cut out your sentiment using the Tim Holtz Holiday Words Script die. It's hard to tell here, but there is a tiny line of gold paper layered underneath the embossed paper.  

Mount your background on to  a white card.  

Add your bling and you're done! 

The pink card follows the same idea, but the center is made using the tiny tattered floral die and the festive foliage die from Tim Holtz.  

That's it! You could bust out all of your Christmas cards in an afternoon making them like this!

Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome hoppers! Today I have a delicious peppermint ornament for you.

I started by cutting a 4 inch circle of Smoothfoam.  Once I had my circle cut I had to figure out the size I needed to cut my peppermint swirls(right now they look like blingy shark fins).   I used my template to cut the swirls out of the Iridescent Glitter Cardstock and the Candy Apple Red Glitter Cardstock.

When I had all of my swirls I glued them to the front and back of the Smoothfoam circle.  

Don't worry about the bit of overlap in the middle, we are going to cover that up.  I used a Snowflake and Heart Dew Drop on both sides. 

The sides were covered with a red frilly ribbon.  

Here's a better peek at the side.  It covers the raw edge of the Smoothfoam.  You could paint it or cover it with more paper too.  

Nobody wants to eat a mint that is out of the wrapper.  I made this wrapper out of a cellophane bag.

I cinched the ends with a bit of wire to hold them tight and covered the wire with Rusty Rose Ribbon. 

I added a bit of The Robin's Nest straw to make the hanger and my delicious mint is ready for the tree.
